DQNEWS ( www.dqnews.com ) released its February sales results.  By sales, we mean the number of transactions.  February sales were down about 1% from January but up over 40% from February one year ago.  Southland sales were up over the previous year for the eighth consecutive month – primarily due to foreclosure transactions.

In Seal Beach (zip code 90740), the median sales price was $708K, down almost 12% from February one year ago.   The average price per square foot was $514 – up from the previous month’s $375.  Seal Beach’s average was the fourth highest in Orange (1 zip code in Laguna Beach and 2 zip codes in Newport Beach were higher).

The adjoining area of Belmont Shore (zip code 90803) had a median sales price of $550K, down over 45% from one year ago.  The average per square foot was $464 – this compares to last month’s $438.
