One of our favorite statistical summaries ( ) released its January sales results.  Southland prices were up over the previous year for the seventh consecutive month.  Bulk of this is attributed to foreclosures.

In Seal Beach (zip code 90740), the median sales price was $674K, down over 15% from December.   The average price per square foot was $375 – up a little from the previous month’s $362.

The adjoining area of Belmont Shore (zip code 90803) saw that its median sales price was $760K, up almost 9.5%.  The average per square foot was $438 – down from last month’s $515.

I wanted to remind all of you that daylight savings time starts Sunday morning March 8.   It is easier for some to remember that this is Saturday night.

What do we do with the clock?  Just remember the expression “Spring AHEAD, Fall BACK“.  On March 8 set your clocks one hour ahead.  Yes, this does mean that you will lose one hours sleep.  But the day will seem so much longer.  Sunset won’t be at 5:45 pm or thereabouts but it will be at 6:45 pm.
