According to www.dqnews.com, August sales in California were down almost 4% from July but up more than 13% from one year ago.  Here are some statistics for our local area.

In Seal Beach the median sales price was $690K, down 29.9% from one year ago. The average per square foot was $381, unusually low but improved from $316 reported last month.

For comparison purposes, in the Belmont Shore (we used zip code 90803) the median sales price was $885K, down over 15% from one year ago. The average per square foot was $585.
