Band at Finbars

Band at Finbars

Just wanted to say what a great time I had at Finbars Saturday night.  I went there for Happy Hours from 4 – 7 P.M. with one of my friends and was surprised with all the selection of food they had and for only $5.00.  They even have live music with John and John on Friday and Saturday nights.  We haad such a great time we stayed until the music was over around 10:00 P.M.

The 30 year fixed rate mortgages fell to 5.93%.

Shoreline Village will be the place for the Long Beach marathon, half-marathon, 5K, and kids race (the website says 1 MILE but it may be a 1K like other similar races).  The course itself will make this a desirable race – undoubtedly the most beautiful big city marathon.

Mark October 12, 2008 at 6 am on your calendar.  Check out their website at and what else the marathon has to offer.

This race is a part of the California Dreamin’ series.  If you run all three marathons in HB, LB, and SF you get a medal in the shape of California and a California Dreamin’ Finisher’s Jacket.

We read statistics recently that give us hope for a real estate market recovery.

For one thing, 2nd quarter gross domestic product (or GDP) was up by 3.3 percent – above the forecasted 1.9 percent.   This is significant because when economic growth rate increases, then consumer confidence in the economy rises, then resulting in more housing sales.

As if to confirm that, the consumer confidence numbers for August increased by 5 points.

Another encouraging report was that last week’s mortgage rates dropped to 6.39 percent for 30-year fixed rate loans.

Should we forecast that the recovery is on?  Reports may suggest that but we’ll wait for the real experts to say so.

In the meantime, see what’s available in Seal Beach by visiting my website at
