April 2008

One of the services that I provide to my clients that ask for it is a list of available properties in the Seal Beach real estate area.  When new properties are listed they are flagged.  Likewise price changes, properties being taken off the market, and the like are all flagged.

Last week we mentioned one property that showed a price increase.  The most recent list showed two neighboring properties with the note that they are a “price increase”.  As we mentioned last time, this does not mean that the tide has changed or that this is even a trend.  It is something that happened.

The reason that I’m even posting this information is because it is interesting to see this happen.

Saturday, the 26th, was the 21st annual running of the Seal Beach Classic Car show.  As expected, things started early.  By 7am, the cars were lined up on Seal Beach Blvd north of Electric.  As the signal turned green, several more cars crossed PCH to get in line.

There were about 500 entries for this show and it looked like they were all there.  The oldest car that I noted was a 1940 Ford truck, but I saw others that looked older but I am not sure.

Will try to report more another time.

I provide updates to several customers and prospects on listings in Seal Beach.  These come out automatically every day straight from our MLS.  Anyway today there was a property that was flagged “Price Increase“.  It’s the first one that I’ve seen in a while.

It’s likely not a trend but at least it’s nice to see.

Although I spend much of my time with Seal Beach real estate, Belmont Shore and Naples have much to offer.  I read a blog post from a Long Beach REALTOR and I wanted to share one of things he mentioned.

According to his statistics, the Belmont Shore / Naples area has just a tad less than 5 months of real estate inventory on hand.   That is better than most communities.  These communities are experiencing a “seller’s market” because they have less than 6 months inventory.

If you’re interested in seeing any of the 100+ properties in Belmont Shore / Naples, let me know.  I can show you whichever ones you would like to see.

I wanted to make sure you knew that Seal Beach has a Starbucks store close to Boeing at approximately Seal Beach Blvd and Westminster.  It is in the same area where the new hotel is almost opened.  The other Starbucks in Seal Beach is north of the 405 in the Target shopping center.  I’ve found a Starbucks in Sunset Beach and in the Pacifica Marina area.  Anyone know of another one in this immediate area?

Actually, this Starbucks has been here since the end of 2007 but somehow I just missed even though it is immediately adjacent to Seal Beach Blvd and has a drive thru window.

Enjoy!

There have been several news reports that Cameron Diaz’s father died following a bout of pneumonia.  Emilio Diaz, 58, had the flu that later progressed to pneumonia.  Reports are that he died suddenly.  He had been in “terrific” health prior to his illness.

Our condolences to Ms Diaz.

Lifeguard tryouts are coming up soon.  They are scheduled for Saturday, May 17th.  If you are interested, sign up at 8am at the Lifeguard Headquarters.  You can call Lifeguard Headquarters at 562.430.2613.
